Kindness in Kentucky

Andrew posted a lovely photo of us at the Corner House Bed & Breakfast in Nicholasville, KY maintained by a lovely hostess by the name of Karen.  We stayed in the Corner room beautifully decorated and well-kept.  Our breakfast was incredible complete with a pecan and blueberry french toast casserole - a dish which I intend to learn how to make!  Our table mates came from Portugal, Venezuela, and Arizona - lil' Rhody represented.

Karen, the innkeeper, is the founder of The Elier Vela Foundation (www.eliervelafoundation.org) that was started to support service members around the world. We will be sending her a message to be included on a quilt square. Any forms of donations are welcome - check out the site.

The gracious gentleman that sat next to me at breakfast from Venezuela left us with sound advice to which our trip (and moreso our lives) should be focused - the word "present" means a gift so live each and every moment as if it is one.

Until Missouri...our next destination.

Thanks for reading.
