Not that we're competing with another team like the Amazing Race or something, but we are pretty pleased with your progress thus far. Lets do a short recap:
--States We Have Covered--
Day 1: Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware and Maryland.
Day 2: Maryland, West Virgina and Kentucky.
Day 3: Kentucky, Indiana, Illinois and Missouri.
That's too many states to count at my current state! Someone leave a comment with how many that is! Anyway, onto the day's events!
Over breakfast, a Portuguese lady, who splits her time between the States and Portugal for a fabric business, stated the obvious: I love America, but its full of too many Chiefs and not enough Indians. Wiser words have never been spoken. Makes you think about your priorities in life a bit. Sure, we have the American Dream to chase frantically, but we should always know our place, ya know?
Then, our lovely innkeeper Karen, shared amazing stories about two soldiers he helped through the war. As you can see, we've changed the layout to accommodate links for new things we stumble upon in our travels. Give them a click, scope them out and donate if you can if its for a charity.
Louisville was a whirlwind, but what fun! It reminds me of a lot of Providence's downtown rejuvenation efforts, but Louisville was much more interactive and open in its mission. Had a blast taking pictures, grabbing lunch and escaping the heat.
Visited Colonel Sander's (KFC) grave, found two of the world's largest bats - one wood and one mammal. Stuffed my face with a stellar bacon, apple and cheddar cheese panini with a dark chocolate cherry milkshake for dessert. Got to keep cool somehow...

Got pretty nervous when we drove for about two hours straight in 100-degree heat... was waiting for the engine block to head into orbit. Guess it can be considered good preparation for the desert terrain we'll be passing through in a few days.

Ended the night at The Lococo Bed & Breakfast in Saint Charles, MO. Super spacious room, AC was going well before we arrived. Many thanks to the owners for that. Walked a few blocks down into town to eat at Vivian's Vineyards. Waitstaff and chefs didn't try all that hard to please their customers and it showed (not that we're snobs by any means). At least I discovered a nice beer: crisp, light, with a bite and a hint of fruit in there. Got lost on the walk back but it forced us to burn some more calories, so I guess it was worthwhile. At least we weren't being chased by meth-heads or anything 'cause I most definitely brought the wrong pair of sandals for that.
Next up is breezing through Springfield, MO and finding some more oddities to make things interesting! Then we touch down in Garfield, AR to visit some of Lara's family before we dive into Oklahoma head first. If I don't see an armadillo, alive or dead, in the next few days, I'm'a be dis-amma-pointed!
Hope everyone in the Woonsocket area back home is safe. Heard about some nasty fires from a mill fire.
p.s. We're at around chapter 19 of Girl With the Dragon Tattoo... getting very very good! Spoiler-free zone!
